'Blueing the Black Sea' - survey now open!

The World Bank-funded Blueing the Black Sea (BBSEA) Regional Initiative recently launched an open consultation (online survey) on the state of pollution of marine waters in the Black Sea.

Post Event - 11th Black Sea Symposium

The International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) successfully hosted its 11th International Black Sea Symposium, on "A collective recovery for the Black Sea Region in the post-covid era”, on 20 April 2021.

The online event was moderated by Dr. Gerasimos RODOTHEATOS, Public International Law Teaching Scholar at Panteion University of Athens.

Blue Economy Window call

On 25 November, the Executive Agency for SMEs organised an information day for the launch of the "Blue Economy Window" call that has a total budget of €2.5 million.

Under the 2019 call, organisations can get between €700,000 and €2,500,000 for their projects. Any for-profit SME based in the EU (single participant or a member of a consortium) can apply.

Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea endorsed at Bucharest Ministerial Conference

The Ministers from the seven Black Sea countries – Bulgaria, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine – met in Bucharest today to endorse the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea. With this, the Black Sea region joins the rest of the sea basins bordering the EU in setting a basin-wide initiative for more, and more sustainable, economic growth.
