THE COMMON MARITIME AGENDA (CMA)

The Common Maritime Agenda (CMA) for the Black Sea is a sea basin initiative to enhance regional cooperation for achieving a sustainable Blue Economy in the Black Sea. 

Under the framework of the CMA, participating countries are committed to addressing common maritime and blue economy challenges and supporting a Black Sea Basin-wide initiative for more sustainable, economic growth.

THE STRATEGIC RESEARCH AND INNOVATION AGENDA (SRIA)

The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) is the scientific pillar of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea. 

Focused on four key areas related to research challenges, one of its primary objectives is to generate scientific knowledge: assessments for better ecosystem, forecasts and management, as well as understanding of the vulnerability of the ecosystem.

Such knowledge serves as the basis for well-informed decision-making to pave the way for the sustainable Blue Economy in the Black Sea.

Moldova assumed the overall Coordination of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea for 2024

Moldova has accepted the role of Presidency to lead implementation of the Common Maritime Agenda in the Black Sea in 2024. 

Moldova will also continue to identify opportunities for action and alignment with the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the Black Sea (SRIA)
